Plan Your Builds With Precision

The Coordinate Generator helps you map out massive builds, nether portal linkages, and circular structures before you place a single block in-game.

Minecraft relies heavily on a three-dimensional grid. Whether you're trying to perfectly link a Nether portal (divide Overworld coords by 8) or generate a perfect circle for a mob farm perimeter, doing the math manually is tedious and prone to errors.

How Nether Portals Work

The Nether operates on a 1:8 ratio with the Overworld. For every 1 block you move horizontally (X and Z) in the Nether, you travel 8 blocks in the Overworld. The Y-axis (height) remains 1:1.

This makes the Nether the ultimate fast-travel network. To link two portals perfectly so they don't cross-wire, take your Overworld portal's X and Z coordinates, divide them by 8, and build your Nether portal at exactly those new coordinates. Our tool does this math for you instantly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Y-coordinates matter for Nether portals?

Generally, no. The game primarily looks at the X and Z axes to link portals. However, if multiple portals share similar X and Z coordinates, the game will link to the closest one on the Y-axis.

Is the portal ratio different on Bedrock?

No, the 1:8 Nether-to-Overworld ratio is consistent across both Java and Bedrock editions.
