Find Minecraft Ores & Veins

Enter your world seed and player coordinates to find the nearest diamond, ancient debris, emerald, and 6 other ore types. Results are sorted by 3D distance so you always dig toward the closest vein first.

How Minecraft Ore Generation Works

Since Minecraft 1.18, ore veins are placed using a decoration seed derived from the world seed via the Xoroshiro128++ PRNG. Each chunk gets a unique decoration seed, and ore features are iterated in a fixed order defined by the featureIndex. CraftMod Hub replicates this algorithm in JavaScript so vein-center positions can be predicted from any seed.

Which Ores Can Be Found?

All 9 overworld and nether ore types are supported: Diamond (Y -64 to 16), Iron (large veins at Y -24 to 56), Gold (Y -64 to 32), Coal (Y 0 to 192), Copper (Y -16 to 112), Lapis Lazuli (Y -64 to 64), Redstone (Y -64 to 16), Emerald (Y -16 to 320, mountains only), and Ancient Debris (Y 8 to 119, Nether).

Are Results Exact?

Vein center positions are deterministic and predicted with 100% accuracy. The exact blocks that actually contain ore depend on additional placement logic (scatter checks, exposure filtering, cave carving) that is not simulated here. In practice, the vein center is always within a few blocks of minable ore.

Tips for Efficient Mining

Use the finder to see which veins are closest, then dig a tunnel at the optimal Y-level for your target ore. For diamonds, Y = -59 is the sweet spot. For ancient debris, Y = 15 works best. Sort results by distance and visit veins in order for maximum efficiency.
