Coal is the first thing you need as a new player in Bedrock. In the 1.21 update, coal generation is unified across versions, but finding it on smaller screens (mobile) or with console controllers means you want easy-to-access spots.

Where to Find Coal in Bedrock

Target Y=96 for mountain coal and Y=44 for underground deposits. Remember: Coal will NEVER generate below Y=0 in Bedrock 1.21. If you hit deepslate, you've gone too far.
