Since it drops multiple raw copper items per block, you can fill your inventory incredibly fast if you know the right depth.

The Copper Peak: Y=48

Copper distribution is a perfect triangle peaking at Y=48. It starts appearing at Y=-16 and goes all the way up to Y=112. However, the density at Y=48 is significantly higher than anywhere else.

Mining at this level also puts you near the peak for coal, making it a highly efficient layer for gathering basic industrial resources.
