Where to Look When You're Running Low

Running out of iron is a bottleneck that can stop your progress cold. If you need iron *now*, skip the random digging and head to these five specific locations where iron generation is amplified.

• **1. Stony Peaks Biomes:** Look for the grey, rocky mountains. Iron is frequently exposed on the surface here.
• **2. Massive Dripstone Caves:** These huge open caverns often generate near Y=16, exposing dozens of iron veins on the ceiling and walls.
• **3. Shipwrecks:** The supply chests in shipwrecks almost always contain 5-15 iron ingots, which is enough to get you started without ever placing a torch.
• **4. Village Blacksmiths:** Check the chests! Blacksmith houses are a great source of iron gear and ingots in the first 5 minutes of a world.
• **5. Deepslate Iron Veins:** Rarely, you'll find massive 'mega-veins' of iron mixed with raw iron blocks and tuff below Y=0. These can yield over 1,000 iron from a single location.
