Best Speedrun Seeds

What Makes a Good Speedrun Seed?

Minecraft speedrunning (Any% Glitchless) is all about minimizing travel time and RNG (random number generation). The perfect speedrun seed has four distinct elements: a spawn point immediately next to a village (for beds, food, and iron trading), a nearby ruined portal with enough obsidian to complete it, a Nether spawn close to both a Fortress and a Bastion Remnant, and an Overworld stronghold directly beneath your portal when you return.

A truly 'broken' seed can cut a 40-minute run down to under 15 minutes by eliminating the search phase entirely. All seeds listed below have been verified working in Minecraft 1.21.

The 'God Seed': Instant Portal & Village

Seed: -3294725893620991126

Edition: Java 1.21

Why it's overpowered: You spawn roughly 50 blocks from a massive taiga village. Right next to the village is a ruined portal that only requires two obsidian to complete, and the village blacksmith chest has exactly two obsidian and an iron pickaxe.

When you enter the Nether, you spawn on a Crimson Forest ledge directly overlooking a Bastion Remnant, with a Nether Fortress visible in the render distance just 150 blocks away. This seed practically hands you a sub-20 minute run.

The Bedrock Edition Speedrun Champion

Seed: 1762539744

Edition: Bedrock 1.21

Bedrock generation handles structures differently than Java, making 'god seeds' rarer. This seed is the exception. You spawn looking at a desert village. Beneath the village well is a fully intact stronghold with the portal room only 15 blocks from the well shaft.

The ruined portal nearby has enough lava to cast a portal quickly, and the Nether spawn drops you right next to a double blaze spawner in a fortress.

Practice Seed: Exposed Stronghold

Seed: 1205040026131463124

Edition: Java 1.21

If you want to practice the End fight specifically, this is your seed. You spawn inside a ravine where a stronghold generation has glitched and exposed the portal room directly to the surface sky.

The portal is already filled with 10 Eyes of Ender, meaning you only need to kill a few Endermen to complete it. It's the perfect training ground for bed-bombing the Ender Dragon without spending 30 minutes in the Nether first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are set-seed speedruns a legitimate category?

Yes, 'Set Seed' is a highly competitive speedrunning category. While 'Random Seed' requires more adaptation, 'Set Seed' is about pure mechanical execution and optimization of a known route.

Why do speedrunners use beds in the End?

Beds explode when you try to sleep in the End or Nether. Speedrunners use this explosion damage (which is significantly higher than sword damage) to kill the Ender Dragon in seconds during its perch phase.
