The Final Frontier

End Cities are the reward for defeating the Ender Dragon. These towering purple structures are the only place to find the game's most powerful items: the Elytra and Shulker Shells.

Fighting the Shulkers

The main defense of an End City is the Shulker. Their projectiles inflict 'Levitation,' which can cause you to drift hundreds of blocks into the air. Always carry an Ender Pearl to teleport safely back to a ledge if you drift too high.

Finding the End Ship

Not every End City has a ship. Look for the floating obsidian boat nearby — that is where the Elytra is stored in a frame. This is the item that completely changes how you play Minecraft.
