Village Guide (Java)
The Heart of Every Journey
Villages are the ultimate safe havens in Minecraft. Whether you're stumbling into a cozy plains settlement or braving a snowy tundra village, these structures provide food, shelter, and most importantly: the game's best loot through trading.
In the 1.21 update, villages remain the backbone of any technical survival world. From iron farms to enchanted books, everything starts here.
How to Find Villages Fast
Villages generate in five main biomes: Plains, Savanna, Desert, Taiga, and Snowy Tundra. If you see a flat area in one of these biomes, there's a good chance a village is nearby.
Pro Tip: Look for smoke! Campfires in village houses produce smoke particles that can be seen from much further away than the houses themselves, especially at night.
The Blacksmith Chest Secret
Not all village houses are equal. Look for the 'Blacksmith' house (it has lava and a grindstone). The chest inside is notorious for containing iron gear, diamonds, and even obsidian. It's the best way to speedrun the early game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make my own village?
Yes! If you bring two villagers to a location with enough beds, they will breed and recognize the area as a new village.
